The center is a newly established initiative founded by Kristian Samuelsson, Robert Feldt, and Linn Söderholm. It operates under the umbrella of Digital Health Arena, a network run by Chalmers Industriteknik and led by Jonathan Converse.

Breakfast Seminar: AI in Healthcare

The Medical AI Arena hosted its first breakfast seminar after a fully booked registration list, with over 100 attendees gathered in the cafeteria of GoCo’s first floor.


The seminar was led by the founders of the Medical AI Center, Kristian Samuelsson and Linn Söderholm. Jovanna Dahlgren, Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences, also attended and shared her perspective on the initiative from the viewpoint of Sahlgrenska Academy.

The event featured presentations starting with Robert Feldt, Professor of Software Engineering and founder of the center, who gave the first session titled "AI's Possibilities in Healthcare". This was followed by David Fendrich, AI expert and founder of Tenfifty, who presented "AI in Practice". Their insights into how AI is transforming healthcare and its practical applications sparked discussions among the participants long after the seminar ended.

RESEARCH

Medical AI Arena will conduct research on applied AI in healthcare.

The research work will be project-based and focused on matching healthcare needs with available AI technology to drive innovation. By bringing together knowledge and insights from the healthcare perspective with AI expertise, we see a great potential to find new solutions to old problems.


EDUCATION

The Medical AI Arena aims to spread knowledge about applied AI in healthcare.


The members of the center are currently organizing the PhD courses “AI in Healthcare” at Sahlgrenska Academy, which has become one of the most popular elective PhD-courses.


With the launch of the Medical AI Center, we look forward to creating open educational opportunities. Events will be held at GoCo Health Innovation City as well as online.
